Zournal is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed with privacy-first principles.
Data Collection and Storage
- Local Storage Only: All journal entries, voice recordings, and personal data are stored locally on your device
- No Cloud Sync: Your data is never uploaded to our servers
- No User Accounts: We don't require registration or collect personal information
Third-Party Services
Zournal uses the following third-party services:
Google Speech Recognition
Groq AI (Enabled by Default)
- Used for: Generating insights, analyzing journal entries, and mood detection
- Data sent: Journal text for AI processing
- Zero Data Retention Policy: Groq does not store or retain any of your journal content
- Privacy Guarantee: Your journal entries are processed in real-time and immediately discarded

- Important: All AI processing happens with zero data retention - your entries are never saved by Groq
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
- Used for: App usage analytics and crash reporting
- Data collected: App usage patterns, crash logs, device information
- No personal content: Journal entries are never sent to Firebase

Data You Control
- All journal entries remain on your device
- You can export your data at any time
- Uninstalling the app deletes all local data
- AI insights are generated on-demand with zero data retention

Children's Privacy
Zournal is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
